What We Do

Services

We work for you and your business, across four core areas — from getting a company registered correctly, to keeping its contracts, records and people compliant as it grows.

01 — Company Formation

Startup Packages

Starting a business raises questions before the first sale is made: who holds the shares, who has the final say, what happens if a founder leaves. We answer these questions properly at the outset, register the company correctly with the CIPC, and put in place the founder and shareholder documents that keep a business defensible later — not just administratively compliant now. Most clients are advised to house a new venture in a private company, which exists as a separate legal person from its owners and offers continuity a sole proprietorship cannot.

02 — Governance & Compliance

Company Secretarial

We act as company secretary for a number of clients, maintaining statutory registers and attending to the ongoing filings the Companies Act requires. Our working knowledge of the Act and its related regulations means changes, filings and amendments are dealt with correctly the first time, rather than corrected months later.

Services range from a once-off register set-up handed over to your team, to a full annual retainer where we hold and maintain the company's statutory records on your behalf.

03 — Drafting & Review

Contract Law

A contract is where a negotiation becomes something enforceable. Our work here is focused on drawing up and tailoring contracts properly the first time — clearly worded, and fit for the relationship they're meant to govern — so that a dispute over what was agreed never has to arise in the first place.

CategoryExamples of contracts we draft and tailor
Real Estate Sale and purchase agreements, residential and commercial lease agreements, combined lease-and-sale agreements, and property due diligence reports.
Commercial Shareholders' agreements, joint venture agreements, supply and distribution agreements, service level agreements, licensing agreements, and franchise agreements.
Personal & Private Client Loan agreements, acknowledgements of debt, suretyships and guarantees, and domestic partnership or cohabitation agreements.

Every contract engagement includes an initial draft, one round of revisions, and a final execution version. Rates are charged hourly at R1,750, with an estimate provided before drafting begins.

04 — People & Workplace

Employment Package

A business is only as strong as its people, and its exposure is usually only as strong as its paperwork. We help employers put the right employment contracts, policies and procedures in place, and support them when things go wrong — from a difficult conversation to a full restructuring.

Our employment work sits alongside our commercial and corporate advice, so contracts, policies and company structure stay aligned rather than contradicting each other.
